I know what it is to wonder if you'll ever feel whole. I also know what it's like to open your arms to a child who has experienced more loss than any child should.

I survived miscarriage, the silence that follows, and the long soul-shaking wait for our daughter, adopted from China. That path taught me something important: there is almost no honest space for the real, messy emotions that adoptive parents carry. It can be lonely to hold unanswered doubts inside.

Of course there is fear - you wouldn't be asking the right questions of yourself if you didn't feel it.

I don't offer fairy tales. I offer real talk, lived experience, and a way through — from someone who has walked this from both sides.
